Honestly I have no idea what A5 beef is, but the atmosphere is great. The food was actually quite expensive, so I had better gotten the real stuff. Would recommend if you have a lot of money to blow on one meal. The wait time was long though, around 45 minutes to an hour.

Food are barbequed over a gas stove. Would be better if they were barbequed over charcoal. Serving was acceptable and the service was good.

Very good experience for trying some premium Hida beef meat.A cook it yourself restaurant that lets you enjoy the meat to your taste.Fun and delicious with friendly staff.At dinner it is recommended to get early, or try to get reservations, as it can get very busy.

I would actually weight this restaurant 5 stars if im a meat eater. The wait was long with no booking, even worst, they cut the line for lunch menu right before us, so we could only order a la carte. A5 beef was tender but felt oily after few pieces according to my wife. Service was friendly and fast. My wife suggested the beef 肩脊肉 instead of A5 ロース肉which was also tender with more meat favour.

I would say that the long line for this resto is not as worth it. Meat was tender but Ive had restos in Takayama where you dont have to cook for yourself. If youre a fan of the cooking your own meat type of restos, this might be your cup of tea. Hwowever for me, i want the experts to be the one to cook it for me. Price is also a little bit higher

Hida beef! Simply Tasty and delicious. We ordered their most popular yakiniku beef & Hida beef udon. The beef goes well with rice, it’s not that kinda Wagyu beef which has a lot of fat and will melt in our mouth. It’s like angus beef with a bit of fat and tender from Wagyu beef. Thumbs up.

We went for the yakiniku option (bbq on the table) of 400g set of various cuts of Hida beef. The A5 is really fat and when grilled melt in the mouth. You can add extra portions of 100g. We ate our beef with Japanese rice (potatoes are an option if needed) and we drank local sake with a decent selectionWe arrived at 5:30pm and probably had to wait around 45 mins for a table for two. But it was worth the wait.

Some of the most delicious beef I've ever had, and I'm from Texas 😉. Two of us split the "big" plate, plus a vegetable plate and a plate of short rib, and we left feeling full.

The meat here is soft and juicy. If you don't like frying the meat yourself, there is a set which already prepared beef above rice. After meal, you will also be given dessert (ice cream) and coffee. Worth the price!

Excellent beef but service is definitely way below Japanese quality. I guess when you have good beef, quality of service is secondary, but again, all the rest of the Takayama have good quality beef too.

Small but clean, portion is abit small. But the HIDAGYU A5 is heavenly. It melts and very juicy in your mouth. Highly recommended!!!

Best meal we had during our Japan trip! Price is reasonable for A5 grade Hida beef. They provide different type of sauces and condiments to go with your beef, but it is best to have it medium rare with just a bit of salt to fully savor the beef flavor. Forget the vege though it doesn't cook well on the grill

I went to the restaurant at 6pm, waited 30 mins to be seated. I ordered the big set. The menu claims that it is A5 but I don’t think so. Beef is quite sticky. Price is high but quality doesn’t worth it. Service and atmosphere is fine.

Great price great value!The sirloin was amazing! The short ribs was on the more fatty side but still amazing! However, the beef tongue some pieces were way too chewy, some pieces were tender.

Good quality meat. Servers were a but unfriendly for Japanese standards. They also can't handle semi-large groups. We were a group of 7 people and they had us (and all our orders) squeeze in a table for 5. Eating in such a cramped space wasn't particularly enjoyable.

We did try to get a reservation beforehand, but Maruaki don’t take any. So we ended up queuing for about an hour, before we got in. Got there around 5:30pm, on 17th December.Ordered an A5 platter, which was really tasty. I did feel getting the veggies was a waste though, the Sukiyaki looked good too. Don’t miss an opportunity to eat quality Hida Beef!!

Amazing place to try high-quality Hida beef. This beef is expensive, but incredible. So soft that it melts in your mouth, like butter!They have menus in different languages, so that is not an issue. Highly recommend getting the dishes we ordered (the sampler plate with vegetables, and the cubed high grade beef). I also like white rice to cleanse the palate.Be careful not to overcook your beef! Eat it as rare as you can for the best experience.

Hida Kuroge Wagyu might be my favorite beef right now. Tried the highest grade A5 wagyu and expected the extreme marbling to be overpowering, but it was not, enjoyed every bite. Try the harami (side skirt), it was my favorite cut of all. Service was great and fast.

Hida beef of A5 are so juicy and fantastic as well as they are not too expensive. You can cost around 8000 Japanese en until two people are full. I really recommend it for you guys.

Big place. Many categories of beef to choose from. We tried shabu shabu and it was nice (the sesame sauce is amazing), but we prefer sukiyaki.

Hida beef was delicious. But a warning is get here before 5:45pm otherwise you will be in a very big crowd in an unpleasant environment. There are more local and nice atmosphered restaurants but this is easy.

What we are offering according to the period is different.

I forgot the name, but the place where JA is doing, facing the street in front of Takayama Station looks good. Reservations are required.

There are several grades for premium beef, of which A5 is the highest grade. Hida beef is from wagyu black-haired cattle bred in the Gifu prefecture.

It's delicious, so I've visited it several times.
